Production Process Of Hot Rolled SS Pipe

Posted by Admin on July, 09, 2021

We have seen two types of plates for stainless steel i.e., hot, and cold rolled. These are two different technologies related to steel rolling. Cold-rolled is made at 25 degrees Celsius. This steel has higher hardness.

Hot rolling indicates the steel rolling at a huge temperature. Steel can be deformed quite easily as resistance is smaller. The thickness and width ratio are higher, the required accuracy is small to produceHot Rolled SS Pipeplates. It is very hard to shape the plates for controlling the convexity. For the required shape of the metal structure, mechanical and microstructure properties can be controlled by initial rolling temperature, final temperature, coiling temperature suitable to finish rolling.

About Steel Pipes:

Seamless pipes are referred to as steel pipes which are produced by solid blanks of tubes or steel ingots via the perforation process of capillary tubes. It is made with cold rolling, hot rolling, cold dialing, etc. The features of seamless pipes are understood by the formula of wall thickness multiplied by outer diameter.

The manufacturing process of Hot Rolled SS Pipeis quite different as compared with cold-rolled pipes. The production process for hot-dip pipes is known to all.

The following steps are followed one by one for the production:

  • Round the tube billet
  • Then heating and perforation process take place,
  • We apply cross-rolling, extrusion, or continuous rolling process,
  • Tube removal and sizing it with actual diameter are essential,
  • Then manufacturers go for cooling and straightening,
  • Now it is the turn for flaw detection or hydraulic test,
  • It ends at marking and storage.

The raw material by Hot Rolled SS Pipe Suppliers for the production of stainlesssteel pipes is the round-table billet. The cutting edges cut it as 1-meter length, and next, it is heated via a conveyor belt in the furnace. The hydrogen of acetylene is used as fuel and the heating temperature is almost 1200 °C. The main key is controlling the overall furnace temperature.

After the release of the tube billet, the perforation procedure takes place with the help of a pressure piercer. The machine for punching purposes is known as the tapered machine. The production needs higher efficiency with the addition of these machines with huge expansion for perforation. It is also efficient for excellent steel quality, and it can manage the wearing of steel as well. After the endof the perforation process, the tube blank is for successive rolling or squeezing by 3 rollers.

Now, we move forward to sizing. The sizing procedure happens at a higher speed, and it finally gets the shape. The outer or inner diameter is decided as per sizing parameters. Next, it enters for cooling by water spraying. Then it is straightened.

After the production, it is now the turn for inspection. Here it is checked whether there are any bubbles, cracks, etc. inside the pipe. It greatly depends upon the manual selection procedure. After the check-ups, the steel pipe is approved with specifications, batch number, production number, etc.
